Reading books in 樹下美術館
I camped beside the museum last night.
Today, I finally stepped inside. What caught my attention most was the bookshelf—quietly filled with unexpected worlds. I was surprised to find names like Andrew Wyeth and J. M. W. Turner here. Outside, the landscape is dominated by rice fields and construction sites—there’s hardly any visible trace of art or culture. And yet, inside this small space, art quietly lives.
The book selection reached into Japan’s Shōwa era—an age that has always fascinated me, the time of Fujiko F. Fujio and the Expo '70. That contrast—between the quiet, ordinary world outside and the richness within—lingers in my mind.
