Today, the rain didn’t stop, and the temperature kept dropping. I had to find a place to stay for the night.
I searched all day, asking around, but there seemed to be nowhere to stay in this area. Setting up my tent in the rain didn’t feel like a good option.
So I reached out to the director of the Nakasendo Museum, asking if she might know anyone who could help. She connected me to a friend of a friend—a local kabuki master.
